![]() ![]() AA range is 5.2km but very low damage until you get close within short aura of 2.5km. ![]() Not much of a selling point but it's something. Yubari has defAA which will help but you have to be mindful of the number of charges as without a premium consumable and/or SI you only get ONE charge. However that doesn't tell the whole story, other than Orion has the best AA for tier 4. Really, all tier 4 ships have to dodge along with AA to deal with air attack.Īt tier 4 if you go by the AA ratings (just go along with me here for a moment) the highest AA ships when fully upgraded are: Orion (42), Kaiser (35), Myogi (25), Wyoming (19), Yubari (17). Not many choices for decent AA (decent, not "strong") at tier 4 but there are some options. or more with BFT (3pts) and AFT (4pts) to add to your ships' innate qualities. RN BB Orion does quite well a does the German KM BB Kaiser, but you must also have a Cpt with at least 10 pts. I've said many times here that the number of CVs in a game should be limited to no more than 2 for every 5 surface ships (in other words, no more than 2 in a full random game, and no more than 1 if the teams are smaller), but I don't think that ship will ever sail, so.I really am just trying to figure a way to adjust my play to counter the threat. There's got to be a way to improve on that experience.Īnd, BTW, this is NOT a "CVs are evil" rant. In all those games, I was constantly mobbed by red aircraft, and I shot down exactly ONE of them. I've heard Yubari might be a candidate? Can anybody comment on that, or recommend others? Is there such a thing? After 5 T4 games this morning, in which I faced a total of 12 CVs - all in T4 ships with weak, weak, WEAK AA, I'm in the mood to find a T4 (or T3) cruiser that I can spec out for AA and just spend my time fighting the planes, but still engage the odd surface target should I find the time.
