If I get into our web-based mails from our server, ditto there. I can send and receive messages just as I did before. As of that day nothing functional has changed on my machine. simply accept the (new) certificate exception permanently and all is well. No problem, have to do this once every year. As you might have surmised, both of us also use Thunderbird and have been doing so for the past 20 years, even before we switched from Windoze to Linux.Ībout 3 days ago both of us received certificate update errors for our emails, probably due to the fact that we experienced a letsncrypt certificate error from our home server. Both of us keep our systems updated, and both of us keep our distro versions updated as well. Both of us use the XFCE desktop and have been doing so for the past several years. The problem that I'm describing here has to do with my wife's Linux Mint machine. She prefers Linux Mint, but I decided about 3 years ago to switch to MX Linux instead. This will be a long read since I've already tried numerous things in order to resolve this issue.
